The Legend Ends

So I was one of the lucky few who was able to get an early glimpse of the first 6-7 minutes of “The Dark Knight Rises.”  Boy, it was pretty awesome.  I don’t want to spoil it at all, but if I had to sum up what I just saw in two words, I’d say: airplane heist.  Knowing Chris Nolan’s style, I could see that there was minimal CGI; everything was very believable and real. We are introduced to Bane, and the only complaint I would have is that we can’t hear him speak clearly.  It’s not like Christian Bale’s voice for Batman, it’s just that with a mask over Tom Hardy’s face, it’s quite difficult to understand all that he says, especially in a very noisy environment.  Watching the 70mm IMAX sequence, was definitely a big plus.

Quick Rant about IMAX:

The image and sound quality was top notch.  I’m definitely going to watch the whole movie, once it comes out, in a 70mm IMAX film venue.  It makes all the difference.  AMC IMAX doesn’t cut it; they claim they are real IMAX, but it’s a load of BS to just get more of your money; yes, the screen is bigger than standard screens, but it does not match 70mm IMAX screens.

After the prologue, there was a montage of brief moments from the rest of the film.  We got to see Batman’s new gadget, Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), a standoff between Bane and Batman, and finally Bane tossing aside a piece of Batman’s mask.

Oh, I also got a free shirt! What a good way to end the day.

Those who want to see the prologue, you can watch it in front of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” (but in 70mm IMAX venues).  And if you don’t want to spoil anything for yourself but are still curious, you can watch the trailers before the new Sherlock Holmes movie; one of those should be the second trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Bane of Batman’s existence.

Man, I would love to go to one of his clinics at Berklee.

One of These Days

I have around 10-15 guitar tunes of my own. The weird thing is I don’t forget how to play them, ever. It’s just a matter of writing lyrics for each one that will turn them into full-fledged songs. I’m in need of inspiration. Perhaps I should read. No, I’ll just continue living out each day and living in the moment. Hmmm, maybe both. Anyway, once I have those words written down, all I need is some recording equipment, and then I’d have my first album….

Alright, gotta remember: quality over quantity.

One of these days, it’s just a matter of time.

Exhale

Life’s been pretty awesome lately. Time, on the other hand, has been and still is a serious let down. It goes by when I don’t want it to, and it seems to slow itself when I take notice of it.

Being in quarter system helps a bit but not really. Yes, you complete courses faster than the semester system, but there’s no time to let all the information sink in. It feels rushed. Sort of precarious learning… especially to those that slack off.  To ensure students’ academic learning and understanding, give us some time, please.

Ehh, but

Most of the time that I use up go into a fellowship and a club sport I joined, so complaining about time is a bit counter-productive.  I, ultimately, need to find a better way to manage my time efficiently…

Like right now… I’m on tumblr, convincing myself I’m doing something that’s worth my time as my fingers continue to clack away at the keys. What is this? I have facebook up on another tab? [Exhale] Well, this is college, and it’s what I’ve been doing for the past couple years.

Things don’t really change do they?

I mean being in a new environment usually calls for change. Am I worrying too much?

Oh, well.

I guess the main purpose for this post is to let out some of my concerns which revolve around school— which are related to my anticipatory anxiety for my final course grades.

Hah, perhaps that bottle of Jack in the other room should help ease the tension for the time being… Drink responsibly.

That’s that
